Atrial Catheterization Cable for the Medical Industry

Atrial Catheterization Cable

A California based supplier of cable assemblies for the medical industry came to us for our custom cable design and manufacturing services. The cable required would be used during atrial catheterization procedures. The cable consisted of 12 conductors 28AWG stranded tinned plated copper wires insulated and jacketed with a flexible, medical grade TPE compound and shielded with a fine gauge tinned plated copper spiral shield. The diameter of the cable measured .137″ and was produced in 1,000′ lengths. Our manufacturing tolerances for this project were ±.005″. Able to withstand temperatures up to 105°C, this cable meets the exacting needs of medical applications such as patient monitoring, electrosurgical, catheterization, defibrillators and X-ray.

This project required EIS to complete the design and prototype within two weeks. In meeting the deadline, this cable was the first to be submitted for testing and was approved as a replacement cable design.
